August 7, 2020 Weekly Junior Pro Team eNewsletter

It's been all over the news lately, and it is a very good thing for anyone that enjoys hunting, fishing and exploring outdoors.... but what is the GAOA?

Got a lucky lure? Well this JPT member has one NAMED after him, and another JPT member makes his own lures. (And they work!)

Scroll down to find out which JPT member was the weekly winner, an insider tip on changing up your angling game, and what the new contest challenge for all members is!

If you live in Wisconsin, you might have seen this in the pages of Wisconsin Outdoor News. JPT member Benno Backhuas has a lure named after him - by his uncle - who makes the special "Salmo Benno Hornet". Check out that 24" walleye Benno landed using one of the lures.
Wow! JPT member Mike Lomascolo (in the picture below) not only made his own lure after watching some YouTube videos, he caught and released this largemouth bass on the very first cast he made with his new lure! Are you making your own lures or have you learned something from watching a YouTube video? We want to hear about it! Send your pictures and tell us about it HERE Because we featured Mike (and Benno's) photo in the newsletter, we will be sending them each a JPT cap.
Grab a copy of Outdoor News and see what you'll find!
We've been having fun this summer looking at the regular features you'll find in the pages of Outdoor News. Last week we asked you to name the feature that helps you get started with preparing wild game and fish. The cooking feature in Outdoor News has recipes that are great to help you make meals from the game you have harvested and the fish you have caught. Congrats to Tyler Czech for the correct answer: TASTE OF THE WILD.
We'll be sending a special prize to Tyler.

Are YOU a cook? Tell us about it!

We were super inspired by Mike Lamascolo's success learning how to make his own lures, and we know that every edition of Outdoor News has a new tip or idea you can use when it comes to hunting, creating wildlife habitat, the shooting sports, or fishing. So our NEW Outdoor News challenge is for YOU to:
  1. Find an article with a tip or idea you can use.
  2. Tell us what edition of Outdoor News you found it in.
  3. Show us a picture (OR even better... make a quick video!) of you doing it or telling us what you've learned!
Maybe it's new duck hunting gear, dog training tips, or what the grouse or archery season might be in your area. Just pick something that interests you, and learn something new from Outdoor News!

Send your answer, along with your JPT member number and name to: evy@outdoornews.com

**If you're planning to send a video - send it here: https://jrproteam.com/submit-photo-or-video/

We may even feature your video on our YouTube Channel too! Check out our other videos
