There are so many different sizes, colors and shapes when it comes to hardbaits, it might be tough to figure out which one to tie on your line. (HARDBAITS are also called a crankbait, stickbait, jerkbaits, plugs or minnow baits.) No doubt you've eyed them up at the store, or have a few in your tacklebox.
According to Outdoor News staff writer, and hardcore angler - Glen Schmitt, "Walleyes, northern pike, and bass are usually shallow during the first weeks of the open-water season, feeding aggressively on baitfish as they recover from the spawn." He said, "Cast along shorelines with a floating crankbait in the sprint or early summer and you'll likely pick off a mixed bag of fish."

Every issue of Outdoor News has a feature that let's anglers know what the local fishing action has been like in lakes or rivers across the state. In the fall, there is a ton of local information about what the hunting season is shaping up to look like in this same feature. You might spot a "Report from the Dock" or the "Vector Charts" on that page.  What is the feature found in Outdoor News called? (Hint - it is labeled right across the top of the page!) Email your answer HERE. Make sure you include your name and JPT member number to be eligible to win!
