From a clump of jellied eggs, to being a lunch treat for predators such as fish, Herons, snakes, turtles, raccoons, skunks and salamanders, frogs go through a process called "metamorphosis". They begin as fully aquatic creatures breathing through gills, and as they mature they develop hind legs, then front legs and gradually absorb their own tail while transitioning to lungs for breathing on land. Frogs are a member of the AMPHIBIAN species.
